Digital & Big Data Era National Management Solutions
Author: James Bai
We must acknowledge a reality in today's digital and big data era: democratic political systems and national management mechanisms, represented by the United Kingdom and the United States, are facing significant challenges in fairness. Big data is now widely used in the democratic electoral process, and a small group of individuals and political parties that have mastered big data resources are capable of controlling the electoral process and pre-determining election results. The outcomes under these conditions are not fair and do not truly represent the will of the majority of voters. Clearly, big data (especially from social media sources) has become an illegitimate tool for a minority to win elections.
Therefore, we must research and develop a new democratic political system and electoral system that can both limit the use of big data and utilize it for fairness monitoring. This new political system and new democratic election system would balance the use of big data by restricting its exploitation by a few individuals and political party teams who currently hold big data resources. Only by limiting these few can we ensure the fairness of the democratic election process and the authenticity of the election results.
